St Patrick’s College, Silverstream is a landmark at the entrance to Upper Hutt and is surrounded by twenty seven hectares of beautiful grounds, with an easy 20 minute drive north of Wellington City. With its distinctive peaks, gothic arches and elegant lines of its historic buildings, the college is steeped in tradition going back almost a century.

Function Rooms

Auditorium

The auditorium can comfortably seat approximately 500 people for a concert or Prize Giving and seating is provided. There is a small kitchen off the auditorium which can also be hired. Sound, lighting and audiovisual support is also available.

Chapel

The chapel is the heart of our school and it holds a significant place in the hearts of our community. We invite you into our sacred space which is the perfect venue for weddings, funerals and baptisms. The chapel can seat approximately 500 people and has audio visual capability.

Sports Pavilion

Our Sports Pavillion has been recently refurbished. It looks out over our beautiful sports grounds which are framed by our Pou and the Mawaihakona Stream. It has kitchen facilities available and is the ideal venue for a small intimate gathering.

Redwood House (Boarding Hostel)

Our Boarding Hostel is Redwood House. It is a historically important building to our school and generations of young men have been proud to call it their home. Redwood House is available for hire during school holidays. It sleeps 106 people in joint and single rooms. It is suitable for sports groups, youth groups or to support the Chapel as a potential wedding venue.

Catering

We have an onsite catering company, Kapura, who are part of the Wellington Hospitality Group. They can provide a menu to support any budget and are happy to work with you to ensure that your event is truly special. Our Dining Hall has the capacity to accommodate 200 people and has a commercial kitchen.
