Academic Pathway and NCEA

Years 9 to 10

The focus of the curriculum is on core subjects that gradually introduces specialist subjects as students progress.

Years 11 to 13

In Year 11 Students start a program called NCEA, which is a qualification recognized around the world. NCEA is designed for different types of learners and is assessed through things like assignments, practical tasks, presentations, exams, and projects. Students select subject pathways to match their interests, strengths, and future career goals.

International Students studying for a whole year will need to take NCEA exams at the end of the year.  For information on NCEA fees please see our current fee schedule.

Past students have used their NCEA qualification to get into prestigious universities in New Zealand and around the world including Harvard and Oxford.  Our school has a strong record of students passing their exams and getting top grades compared to other boys' schools in the country.

If you would like to know more about NCEA, please view our NCEA page, for information on subjects see Curriculum @ Stream.
